Medical center logo Dupuytren Center
Dupuytren’s contracture is a hand tissue disorder where the fingers bend towards the palm and cannot be fully straightened. It is an inherited disease affecting more men than women and more elderly people than the young. Treatment of this disease is quite complicated, with a long rehabilitation period.
There is still no proven evidence as to the causes of this disorder.
The disease is studied and treated in the Dupuytren Center, USA.
When designing the logo I managed to find a simple and precise image illustrating the process of curing Dupuytren’s contracture. An open palm setting a butterfly free is a simple gesture that clearly demonstrates the specifics of the affliction and at the same time refers to freedom from the sickness.
